Whoever bought these new style scanning machines at T5 should be shot.
They are the cause of much of the delay and the criminal thing about it is that the delays were totally predictable.
They had one of the T5 style machines in as trial at GLA domestic security for a while with an old style scanner next to it, and it was obvious that the new machine was much slower at provcessing passengers than the new one.
They then went ahead and bought new style ones for T5, and I bet they did their passenger throughput calculation based on the time it takes someone to go through the old style machines.
This means T5 can't cope with teh volume, hence peed off passengers and missed flights.
I'll give it a year before they decide to replace them all...or is that just wishful thinking.
