For most of Joe Public who don't have access to such facilties (or don't pay up), the lack of decent seating, advanced gate notifcations, the complete lack of natural light in parts of T1 and the lack of places for them to charge their laptops - I can see where they're coming from alas.
All of this would also apply to T2, with T2 having a more cramped feel about it (both landside and airside) and a less convenient route from check-in to security.
