I was under the impression that Elite passengers got priority contact numbers to make changes to flights etc.

I pulled the priority contact numbers from the AE website but when I call there, these numbers seem to only be for reward bookings - I didn't wait on hold long enough to see if this was the case or not.

On the AE website it does mention that the priority contacts are for a variety of Air Canada and Aeroplan things, but does not describe what.

Can anyone clarify?
