Very simple question - if my wife and I sit in seats 1A and 1K is that too far apart, is it better to be in 4 C/H (3 seats not available)?

We are going on our honeymoon and naturally want to be close to each other (LAX-SYD). Before anyone complains, I've diligently researched seat guru, seat expert, searched this forum by investing considerable time, but I'm not able to find a clear answer. In particular, this thread "Everything You Want to Know About Where to Sit on a 747 (New International Cabin)" by SAT Lawyer left me without any good answers on where to sit in the New First cabin (I've been in the new business already). I've even called United and have received conflicting answers from the reservations agents, one telling me the seats in row 1 are quite far apart, while another said they are perfectly suitable for couples. I don't like being near the galley but will take that if the seating in row 1 isn't really suitable for couples.
