Thanks for the options, had wondered if there was some place just outside the station itself but as you say I'm a bit tight on time so looks like it will have to be one of the many fine eateries at Paddington itself.
The shopping (and eating) area at Paddington Station is not unattractive. There are some fast food places on the concourse itself but the places mentioned above are in the retail area, which you may know.
