The newer Montavisa Wing is more conventional, although if you are into spa experiences then the spa suites here work very well. These rooms/suites are lighter and airier than the originals, but perhaps more ordinary because of it (unless you take the Alvadora Villa, which is superb).

I prefer the Designer Casitas (each one was created by a different designer) in the gardens, which are wholly Southwestern in style but very comfortable. Bathrooms are pretty small, but work very well, though in many cases there is no tub, just a very large shower. The suites are spectacular, especially the Presidential and Villa 122.
