There is certainly a high probability of heavy rain in Feb in MRU and the chance of a Cyclone.

I don't really agree with the 'poverty' issue above... but then have travelled to places like Madagascar. Either way if you stick to the tourist areas and maybe one visit to Port Louis you really aren't going to see any poverty.
