OT - I had hoped to get around this by using Platinum concierge but they weren't any help.
I ended up buying a ticket on a LCC and will fly instead.
Actually its appears that problem is some sort of marketing agreement with Rail Europe since in the test I found the very same fares on both the UK and the Spanish site ( that said "pick-up your tickets in the UK or Spain") only the Rail Europe site was much higher.
