Domestic international flights

These flights are within NZ but use international terminals at both ends. Connecting international pax clear immigration and customs at the end of these flights if arriving in NZ or at the start of these flights if departing from NZ. Passengers without international connections (eg bumped from another domestic flight) get a "D" sticker, are exempt from departure fee, are unable to buy duty free, use the special lane at immigration & customs. Airports and routes served as at 1 September 2009 are
  • CHC-AKL tag leg (in that direction only) is bookable on international fares but not on wholly domestic fares
  • AKL-CHC & CHC-AKL international shuttle is timed to connect with LAX/SFO/YVR flights, doesn't operate every day, and is only bookable on international fares to/from CHC

Air NZ timetables

There are no published timetables (printed or pdf). The only option other than dummy booking is to use online timetable by route (daily or weekly) - Air NZ flight search, Star Alliance online flight search or Star Alliance online & downloadable timetables.

Air NZ flight status

You can check flight status by TextExpress SMS service or by using the online flight lookup (shows arrivals and departures for the next 12 hours by airport).

Other places with (less up-to-date) flight status information include Star Alliance flight status and Flightstats.
