Now, if only there was an iDine multi-program tracker. Let's see, one month I need 8 AA iDines for 2000 bonus miles, meanwhile every month 3 NWA iDines for either 250 or 500 bonus miles, then various UA promos that constantly change (but in general in 2004 25% bonus on every UA iDine if I did the qualification ok), then once I get status at AA 3 AA iDines every month for 500 bonus miles. Then many of my favorite iDine restaurants are 1 visit per month per program, so those I need to rotate among the programs, but do that with all the above bonus earnings in mind.
To me, keeping track of how to optimize all this is much harder than the underlying Frequent Flyer and Frequent Stay programs.
But I've not heard of a tracker for all the iDine-based programs (all of which, btw, I have to log into an airline-specific site rather than iDine proper).
And will any of the mileage trackers let me put in the dates for my hotel stays, the "convenience factor" for each chain's hotel location, the rate for each chain's hotel, and then correlate that to the FF programs I belong to, the complex airline-hotel cross-promotions (like NWA's up to 200% bonus but only if you earn directly to miles), and then tell me how much I can earn in which program or where to stay each night if I want XX miles into this program and YY miles into that program?
If it's not for these kinds of complex promos, I don't have a big problem managing miles/points manually. But boy, when everyone throws a complex promo -- each with completely different rules -- at me simultaneously and I have to balance them out (like HHonors Diamond in 10 stays about the same time as Priority Club 10k + 7.5k for 8 stays in a pair of months when it turned out I had exactly 18 stays to do, and then AA threw out 5k for one Starwood stay into the mix!), THAT'S what I need a tracker for.
But that's not what I understand the trackers to be able to do. Just the stuff (like NORMAL earnings) that's comparatively easy to do manually. Am I wrong?
