I had always read that fare rule as meaning that you could make changes to date/time up to the day before the flight. On the day of the flight it became non-changeable. It is an unusually benevolent (and rather odd) interpretation for BA at GVA to offer a date change on the day of travel, but not time. In my view, the fare rules permit neither on the date of travel.

And why does BA do this? To protect revenue; plain and simple.
