An S Class ticket has many strings attached. S class accrues only 50% of the actual mileage flown (2,016 (S) instead of 4,032 (Actual) according to the LH Mileage calculator). To receive the executive bonus as listed, you need a Miles & More status card (FTL, SEN or HON). You can only upgrade by paying the fare difference between S Class and the listed Business Class fare, and changes to the ticket come with a rebooking fee. Other than that, not much else. An S Class fare is a very economic way of going across the pond; I use them myself. To me the point is getting to Germany; though I won't turn down a nice C seat!
