AA RTW Desk Fuel Surcharge is sky high (ex-ICN DONE3)

I'm trying to book a RTW DONE3 ex-ICN. The itinerary I want is:

ICN-HKG-xNRT-xDFW-MIA-PTY-MIA-PUJ-MIA-xLHR-DXB-BOM (surface) DEL-xNRT-ICN

I want to ticket via AA to "reduce" fuel fines and minimize issues using eVIPs etc. When I got this priced by DUBLIN - I was given a price of 5,853,120 KRW (inc. 729,820 KRW in taxes) - that seems very high (well - very being relative of course...)

Using the Oneworld tool I run into 2 issues - firstly it seems to count the BOM to DEL surface as a stop and thereby insists my itinerary is invalid because I have more than 2 stops in continent of origin... Easy enough, I book HKG as a connection within 24 hours and it resolves the issue - I'll change the date later.

So here's what I did with the online tool:
A) Pricing the itinerary starting as ICN-xHKG-xNRT-xDFW-MIA thru the online tool sends it to CX (obv.) and prices out with taxes of 534,300 KRW.
B) Pricing the itinerary starting as ICN-NRT-xDFW-MIA sends it to QF (first airline is JL) - taxes of 457,200 KRW.
C) Itinerary starting as ICN-xNRT-xDFW-MIA using AA codeshare sends it to AA Europe - taxes of 348,600

The AA RTW desks taxes are more than double of the online tool. I understand the HK stop adds fees etc. but it doesn't appear to be that... I can't figure out why the RTW desk is so high - and they won't give me/ can't give me a breakdown!!!

Any ideas folks? Any way I can stick with the HKG stop and go thru AA? Send it to a TA without going thru the ATW desk could be an option - but I don't see it changing what DUB does...

Thanks for your help / thoughts...
Nick
