Yep, I was misunderstanding you. But you probably are right when you assume that the United agent won't have access to the US flight on the second leg of the journey. They probably wouldn't make you check in with US on the second leg, as United is able to print you boarding passes for the whole itinerary. -BUT- If you are planning to use upgrades on the second leg then im just not sure . . . sorry
