I'm staying at the hotel after Hilton Mission Valley stay and I agree with pmaddock's review. Hilton's lounge offered better selection specially at the breakfast. Hilton had 4 hot selections (oat meal, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage) but DT offers only scrambled eggs. The pastry selection is poor too. For evening appetizers are compatible but Hilton was slightly better; both offer 1 hot choice and Hilton had vegetable and cheese tray and DT had fruit tray.
DT offers larger rooms than Hilton and Hilton's bathroom was slightly bigger. I don't think its rate (and category) premium over Hilton can be justified . For the month of March and April, DT's rates were considerably higher and yet it releases rooms to Priceline at heavy discount. BTW, I got $56/nt rate for next week's family trip. Both hotels' rooms are in good condition but DT's elevator shows its age. Both still had tube TV.
Lastly, Hilton comps internet service for Gold and Diamond members while DT does not.
I have stayed at Sheraton, Hilton and DT in Mission Hill and Hilton would be my choice.
My two cents.
