I'm afraid it would not work
According to the rules (to be found on the klm site) your departure needs to be 2 hours different from your original or your arrival needs to be 4 hours different from your original. If notified within two weeks of departure. Half of that within one week of departure.
It worked for us since our departure is more then 3 hours different from the original.
But you can always try. I found out that calling customer care worked very well.
