I disagree with that...
A) Usually priceline is just a reservation and you pay at the car rental
B) I think it is still covered nonetheless
Priceline offers more than one type of service. If you just made a car rental reservation through Priceline, then yes, you will pay the car rental company directly. If, however, you placed a winning bid on Priceline for a rental car, then Priceline has charged your credit card, and will pay the car rental company separately. Even in the latter case, at least some credit cards will still cover you with their free LDW. It's best to check with your credit card issuer if you've obtained your rental car through Priiceline's "Name Your Own Price" bid option.
Also, use of a free-day or dollars-off coupon on a car rental will void the LDW coverage on some, but not all, credit cards. Again, it's best to check with your card issuer in such circumstances.
