Given the wind direction, cancellations may be more severe this time. CO, DL and NW have already cancelled all of their flights to ANC today. The Anchorage Daily News is reporting that trace amounts of ash might fall in Anchorage.
NW cargo is still running as are some other cargo airlines. I guess they have different safety parameters. Apparently the crews lives dont matter on the cargo jets? Fedex however has ceased operations. Whats really scary is those slope workers on the BP/Conoco shared services flights. They are operating business as usual
