We're headed out. Gonna try the "out the main door to the left or right" post from measures! We'll figure out left or right once we get there

A couple (few) quick questions...

1) We don't have a radio/alarm clock. Is this normal?
2) We had to ask for an ice bucket. The bartender (I believe that's who it was) brought up a fancy stainless steel bucket with ice and water. Very nice, but sort of weird to me.
3) They tell me that they have a US->Ireland (EU) power adapter...but not a voltage regulator. What's up with that? How do I plug in my iPhone or Dell laptop? Or should I just not bother?

You're the best!

Well done on the upgrade!
1) yes, probably normal. we're not as slick here, so ask them to phone you. There might be an option on the TV? (if there is a TV).
2) very very unusual to have an ice bucket in a 3-star hotel, never mind in your room
3)The Dell should be ok, if you bought it in the last 5 years.
Since the voltage is higher here than in US, see if they can lend you a charger instead of an adaptor for the phone. I have a USB-based thingy that clicks into my phone, and it was cheap. Rolls out from a small circular 'winder'. I've seen them for several types of phones, but not specifically for an iphone. Now, you could have other problems with the iphone, if it is just based on US bands and is not tri- or quad-band. For a few days, its probably not worth risking the power problem, but on your way home, investigate the small usb adaptor - its much smaller than the regular chargers, for all phones.

You must have risked the Dell, if you are posting? very brave, or are you on battery?
WHEN YOU GO OUT THE FRONT DOOR, TURN RIGHT, AND AT THE JUNCTION TURN LEFT OR RIGHT!
