Quite frankly, it doesn't extend beyond the seat and the benefits associated with the seat.

The width, the privacy, the size of the bed, the number of personal air vents, the size of the screen, not having a seatmate - all simply add up to a very comfortable sleeping environment, which, to me, is of the utmost importance on these flights. That having been said, service is only marginally better than C, so, if sleeping isn't that important to you, it's not worth it.
