Combining two fares for a R/T
Got another one for everyone here...
I use US's "search by price" feature alot and tried to use it again a few nights ago for a quick trip to PHL for new years eve and the cheapest fare that I was showing was a S fare for 162+. I called US and they gave me a price of 160.60 total. I inquired how this was and apparently its booked in a T fare on the outbound and S fare on the inbound.
I've seen this before but never understood exactly how the average Joe - no pun intended - can know when/if fares are combinable.
Anyone care to take a stab? Thanks!
