Not sure how we're getting back to Tel Aviv yet from Jerusalem but I'd imagine the fare isn't going to be that different based on hotel so I'm really thinking of just Sunday morning to the airport and whether it's worth the extra $130 a night. Doesn't seem that it is.
I think the City Tower is a nicer hotel. People say the Moriah is a dump. I haven't stayed there. The Sheraton Towers on the beach (next to the Moriah) is the nicest hotel, but it is a lot more money. The City Tower is much closer to the airport (15 minutes, if little traffic), so while the airport fare may be comparable, it is a shorter ride. You basically have to go past the City Tower to get the the beach hotels. There's nothing wrong with the City Tower. It has a nice pool, with a gym and a spa. Not as cool as looking out over the ocean/beach, but more than fine for a quick layover.
