I agree. I accept that my circumstances were exceptional (and that was genuinely the case and not exaggerated) and that they wouldn't want to start making general exceptions for everyone. I suppose the point I was making is that the systems do permit later bookings, rather than it just not being possible to make them in any circumstances.
