That's a pretty unfair and harsh assumption. The reality is that I wanted to thank the flight attendant once again for re-seating me, and to apologize for the confusion. Why didn't I mention that earlier? Because I felt that since my "reputation" here is already tarnished because of this, in a way, I felt that nobody would believe me. And, yes, I did what you said - I asked for water by tilting my hand on my chin.
Some wonder why I didn't use my pager to say those things - the reason is because the flight was in the air, and I didn't want any additional "drama" by the flight attendant thinking that my pager was trying to connect, when in reality, it was in "airplane mode" - therefore, the need to use paper and pen.
I may be many things, but cruel is not one of them. I don't believe in setting people up intentionally to fail. That assumption really was unnecessary.
I find it improbable that the same flight attendants who accomodated such a silly request as a window seat opposite the window seat you were already seated in refused to give you a glass of water. You are not the first person that the FA encountered (probably not even that day) who has trouble communicating. Why in the world would you need the FA to provide you with a pen and paper to communicate that you would like a drink of water? 100% of other people needing to nonverbally communicate the need for a drink would pantomime a glass tilting to their lips. I think you were holding out hoops for everyone to jump through and waiting for the poor Delta employees to fail.
