Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I just came back from March Madness in Vegas. It was very busy (compared to the 2 other times I went this year) with tons of people on the street.
Some of my superstitions in craps are:
- Change of dealer (Turn off on next roll)
- Bounces off the table (Turn off until he hits a point, a lot of times it 7's out on the second roll)
- Some idiot changes money in the middle of a hot roll (the worst are the people who change money and DON'T even bet)
- Some idiot walks to up to a quarter table and bets $5 or $10 on field (Turn off IMMEDIATELY)
- Change tables if I see don't bettors (I enjoy knocking them off (knocked a whale at MGM for 600k for betting against me a couple of years ago which I thoroughly enjoyed) but its not worth the bad vibes they emit)
- Players betting late on rolls (Change tables)
- Players hanging their hands over the railing and potentially making contact with dice (request dealer to tell him to get his hands up)
- Players/Dealers/Stickman's stick making contact with dice is usually a 7 (nothing you can do about it)
What I look for in a table
- $25 and up tables because the players are more knowledgable (but, if the minimum everywhere is $25, you'll get those "bad" players once in a while)
- Women rollers who have never rolled before (GOLDMINE!)
- People who set the dice and throws with the same rythym (spelling?) and motion (there's craps groups out there and I've been lucky to run into one and they do very well)
- CHEERING table or a table with a good vide (fun players and fun dealers). If the dealers and players look pissed off, I stay away.
I feel the vibe dictates how the rolls go for that table. If everyone is fun and happy, it usually is a good thing.
Obviously, this is just selective memory. The dice does not have a pattern and does not have a memory. So, everytime it 7's out, I always think of an excuse of why it 7'd out or something/someone to blame.
Overall, I know I've lost more than I won. But, boy does it feel good when a roller rolls for 30min-1hr long and you make thousands. It's all fun and entertainment and you try to remember the big wins. =)
