The franchised hotel from which you received the voucher is the only one that should be on the hook for this free bennie. Redeeming it elsewhere is not fair to any other hotel.
I did not know this. I agree, a diff. franchisee shouldn't be on the hook. These will be returned to the gifter as he should know the location of the HGI. Thanks for all the great input.
