I have about a $1300 credit with AA for a previously unused ticket. It's good until August of this year.
I've been pricing itineraries to far off places like DEL, PVG, NRT, etc. to maximize EQMs. I've also been pricing BOS-LAX/SFO/SAN and LHR/MAN trips to maximize promo points (3x and 25K).
Can I book multiple trips, put them on hold, and then call AA and have them apply the credit to them all, or is it a one for one redemption?
I can do PVG and DEL for about that price (and the generosity of a fellow FT'er who offered a barter of eVIPs to make the trip bearable in exchange for some points). But I might rather do a few BOS transcons to take advantage of the 3x bonus. My priorities are torn between earning PLT for next year and earning another 200K or so for lifetime Gold (and I have about 180K SPG points that will help that cause, but I don't want to deplete that account solely for the purpose unless I have to).
I just applied an AA credit ($1800) to two itineraries that were on hold, the balance (700-800) will be sent to me in the form of a paper voucher...
