With what CO, United and AA put out, this is unbelievably lame.

The only way to take advantage would be to find a V fare that prices reasonably close to K.

I just checked DTW-SFO and the V is twice what the K is.

Good luck with the search, for those that even bother.

Although, from a $ to NW promo, this will bring in the top dollar late ticket buyers, exactly who they want to court.

So, although the MRers will defect, the high dollar guys may be lured and allow NW to have more fare sales later. I know, wishful thinking.
