For their purposes, I don't think they care too much about exactly how long your transit is and what you do in that time - as long as it's a "connection" (rather than a stopover) and as long as you show them the next BP, access shouldn't be any problem whatsoever.

I'm sure that plenty of people do transits that involve going past midnight and/or very long transits...
