Not sure if this is the right place for this. If not, please re-direct.

Will have a lay-over in SFO, I decide to make it an over night stop (arrive late Friday, depart early Sunday). I will staying in a hotel near SFO, but would like to spend the day in the city, walking around Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown and if possible, visit Alcatraz.

The question is which is the best way, by public transport/shuttle to go into and out of (these areas) of the city from the airport. It is likely I will try to make the most of my day in the city, so will be heading back late in the day.

Grateful for any information, advice and suggestions.
