Admittedly, the bus may not be the best you'd encounter in your life, but the ride is short and dealing with taxis etc is no fun either.
The last time I tried it (late 2007 I think) it was pretty decent, by DEL bus standards.
The rattletraps they used to use at BOM are now aircon volvo coaches and BOM is much nicer than most Indian airports now .. if you want to fly CO BOM-EWR instead of DEL-EWR.
