I did some searching but I was not able to find answer among relatively recent posts in this forum. Forgive me if the question was already answered.

I would like to book a return ticket from SFO to CDG on points. I know that I don't have enough points for the return segment. Is it possible to use points to pay for the first segment and then pay cash for the difference.

I understand that if it is possible that between taxes, fees and the cost of the return segment that it may come to roughly the same cost as buying the entire itinerary out right.

Normally I would call FB but regretfully the office will not be open until Monday morning. I don't mind waiting to call, but I found a reasonable price and would like to book now if I have to pay the entire thing, or if it would be more advantageous to book the entire itinerary with cash.
