I tested out how vigourous the screeners were a couple of months ago by having container with varying amounts up to 4oz to see what they would do with my kippie bag. To conceal the volumes, I placed the contraband items with volumes facing in. Only once did they look closer at it, trying to move the tube around, without opening the bag. Not one screener told me it was illegal. Even better, when I was cleaning out my suitcase last week, I realized I had a tube of gel that was in the front pouch of my bag and not in the usual plastic baggie and was probably there for the last 6 months. YMMV with the screeners!
