Hello,
I know we have some SIA-experienced travel agents in the room as well with not much recent discussion on this topic. Last found thread:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/singa...-comments.html
While I am big on tools like Priceline, I thought the Singapore Stopover package might be attractive because of a number of reasons:
1) The transfers to/from hotel (I don't believe any of the hotels off this for free?)
2) Free admission to a lot of sites (which I don't believe will work with just the boarding pass)
3) Free SIM card (interesting? or such a cheap shot?)
However, I am not sure what is the best way to book this package. Do travel agents book this package on commission or is it better just to have them space the stopover on the flights and book directly via the website (is it cheaper this way?). If it is a travel agent booking at the same price, I don't really mind.
Actually, the more I do this analysis, the more ridiculous these packages seem for the value (esp. versus Priceline rates), so is there any reason to book these packages or have I said what you guys already knew?
Thanks,
Rasheed
