I thought I'd update you on the clothes alterations.
The garments turned out quite well, although not as perfect as I had hoped. Although they did a very nice job with them, there are still a bit more alterations required with one of the garments, I think - they were very major jobs and I guess it's not always possible for them to turn out perfect without doing a couple of fittings. However, they're certainly a huge improvement compared to how they were before.
I also found another nice alteration place further up Lower Sloane Street towards Sloane Street, which I think could be the one Raffles is referring to. They offered a very quick service of taking in my skirt and it turned out well. I am not sure how they would do with complicated alterations, but for anything fairly simple and require quick service, I highly recommend Sloane Tailors, 69 Lower Sloane Street. Not the cheapest, but helpful, accommodating and does a nice job.
They have a dry cleaning place next door. The dry cleaners did a very nice job with my jacket and skirt. I was rather happy to see that my clothes came back on plastic coat/skirt hangers instead of wire ones, plus they put tissues into the jacket sleeves to stop them from creasing.
