It makes all the difference.

Bag drop at the airport is a maximum of 3 hours (longhaul) and 2 hours (shorthaul) before departure for Y/W passengers with no status.

J/F/status passengers can drop bags anytime before departure on the day, as long as the desks are open.

Self-service check-in machines open at 04:30
Bag drop desks open at 05:00
North lounge open at 05:00
South lounges open at 05:30
