Advice Needed for Gatwick Departure!

I have an upcoming TP run to AMS from LGW in CE in order to (finally!) gain Silver status.

Believe it or not, this will actually be my first time departing from Gatwick, as I am normally a Heathrow addict. However, the much reduced LGW price as opposed to the LHR price persuaded me to kick the addiction.

So I am after a bit of advice from all of you regarding the LGW departure experience (I will probably be arriving around 06:00);

1. What's the quickest route from the Gatwick Express to the North Terminal?
2. I will check-in online. Is a FastTrack security sticker required, and if so how do I get one?
3. Is FastTrack security as unreliable as it is at LHR?
4. What's the quickest route from security to the Terraces lounge?
5. How long should I leave the Terraces lounge before boarding?

I feel like such a newbie.
