There are a lot of public servants who'd be thinking 'I WISH!' if they are reading that.
The normal government arrangements is that the staff member does get status credits but not the FFP points.
Only if on specific government rate though, and not all agencies have that.
As for remuneration, i highly doubt paying politicians private sector salary will encourage them to perform better or make ethical decisions. If you are in a position to make some kickbacks from giving a friend a contract, would you do it? and its all perfectly legal.
No I wouldn't do it. But then if one were totally ethical, how would one become a politician?
