Of course you don't get to see what the route is like on Jet Airways and Air India. There is chatter on the internet that Air India will be joining the Star Alliance which provides more options for Star Alliance frequent fliers. In my humble opinion, the less stops the better so it is easier to hunt down lost luggage and the lesser chances of missing connecting flights
