Hi, about to book Qantas PE to SYD via HKG, was planning to book through TA just to keep things simple with hotels etc. I thought I would just check with BA if I could get an upgrade by flying BA WT+ to Hong Kong and MFUing. The price was £500 higher to do this so passed it up. During our conversation the lady on the telephone said that I could use my BA mile to MFU a Qantas flight if booked through the BA call centre, I did not argue or disagree, but I thought you can only MFU a BA metal flight.

Can somebody please advise if possible, if this can be done I will book the Qantas flights via BA and hope that a chance to upgrade comes up.
