1A is a lovely seat, but I have noticed lately that BA will block it for crew members to rest. This has happened to me before where I have selected 1A and been removed from it prior to flying, only to find out that it was left empty. On one occasion, I overheard one of the flight attendants explaining to another passenger who wanted to move into the seat that it could not be used due to the reason I mentioned above.

Luckily in those instances the cabin hadn't filled up too dramatically prior to departure, so my shift wasn't too bad - but it's a bit of a gamble.

Other than that, it is a really nice, cosy cabin.
