Sorry for the horrible subject title. I was wondering if anyone has successfully been through the following situation...

Say I am a US Preferred flyer and am flying on a US flight. I obtain an upgrade based on my US status. All is fine and dandy, except now that I have gotten my upgraded seat I want to have the miles credited to my UA account.

It sounds like it should be an easy thing to do, but my searching hasn't proved this.

Any experiences?
