Seems the days of CX valuing their Premium Cabins has gone and they will take Y bookings and upgrade as they now see this as fiscally better business that an empty seat.
They have to pay for their unfortunate fuel hedging in any way they can.
It's the beginning of "March Break" holiday week in Ontario. This may explain why Y was so full.
Everyone that I spoke with hated the new schedule leaving HKG at 2:30AM for YYZ.
