I actually found that the itamae at Sushi Dai loved having someone to practice his English on (to the extent that he seemed disappointed that I spoke Japanese, but at least he had a few Chinese couples in there as well to speak with).
I wonder if I missed him that morning (or if I was actually in Daiwa Sushi). It would be great to coincide with someone like that.
