I'm soon to achieve Frequent Traveller status, and found the lounge access details ambiguous.

Does someone with FT status only get lounge access if travelling on Lufthansa or one of its close partner airlines and they have their own specific lounge at that airport?

ie I'm flying next month on Lufthansa from Edinburgh, but they don't have a lounge there. Can I access another Star lounge, say a BMI one?
