The AA F seat isn't the best for a couple, but 1A/2D or 2D/2G have worked fine in the past.
I have to think that both JL and AA's F products would be "better" for a couple than CX F. CX F seat is fantastic, but one of the benefits is a distinct sense of privacy. Unless you are sharing the seat (which is wide enough for two or you can use the ottoman) you won't even be able to see your companion.
