On a mainland to Hawai`i flight, there was much seat-switching going on, per usual, as couples who upgraded at the last minute wanted to sit together.
I ended up in, apparently, a general member's seat and the FA didn't realize this when doing the meal selections.
She came back to me first and told me that she was sorry but that my first choice wasn't available.
I said that was fine; would it be possible to get one of the snack boxes from Y? She said "of course."
She then brought me the box and I tucked it away for later.
Not too longer after, she came to me apologizing up and down that she'd realized that I wasn't in fact Mr. X, but was Mr. cblaisd and therefore I should have indeed gotten my first choice. I said "It doesn't matter; I'm cool with the snack box. No problem at all." She was still quite embarrassed. Turns out at mealtime that someone who had gotten what was my first choice decided not to eat so she brought me that meal anyway -- and apologized yet again.
Not longer after, she came back and gave me an "apology" card and suggested I put in something like "broken IFE"
I appreciated her extreme devotion to service and her creativity!
Was offered a $100 e-cert and I took it
