In-room coffee isn't a French thing. Maybe they don't dismiss it as a horror, like one eating a sandwich at his desk for lunch, but it's not the way they do things. German Swiss are more pragmatic.
Why would one drink coffee in a hotel room when being in the heart of Paris? I do that when being in suburbian US, but for Paris its clearly one of the wonderful little French bistros.... (and do not tell me 4 Euro is a rip-off - hey, this is Paris....
