I am trying to choose between PSP-SFO and PSP-SJC. How do these two routes compare. Certainly there are more flights in and out of SFO, but SJC is slightly closer to my destination.
1) SFO is served by AS, but SJC is served by QX. Which route has better onboard service? I am not familiar with the reputation of AS vs QX.

1-2: The service is likely to be better on QX, though AS also has some great crews. QX will serve free beer and wine with an interesting snack. I've actually seen a single QX FA do two full services on a route as short as RDM-PDX; PSP-SJC should be a breeze for service unless the captain asks the FAs to remain seated.
3. Upgrades were easy on SFO-PSP when I was an MVP. It's a big leisure route but there are a few regulars and even some paid F, which might make upgrades a bit more difficult but not nearly as difficult as something like SEA-OAK.
4. Standby works the same as any other flight. Check loads in advance.
