OP was at the domestic SFO RCC and likely this was a major contributor to the problem. There is very low likeihood of a traveller meeting the drink chit guidelines being in the domestic RCC plus the OP was mistaken on the rules, but nevertheles the staff appears to handled it poorly from the sounds of it.
